It's been a while

So, now Charlie is 10 weeks old. Where has the time gone?!?! It has been a very ROUGH 10 weeks, but they have also gone by so fast. He is a BIG, beautiful little boy and I feel so fortunate to be his mommy. It definitely hasn't been easy though. Whoever says they "love" these early weeks obviously is forgetting the 5 pm meltdowns, the 1:30 am, 4:00am , & 6:00 am wak-up calls. Steve & I dont remember it being this hard with Haley. But then again, we didn't also have a 17 month old demanding (& deserving) our attention.

Having kids is so hard on a marriage, and anyone who says it isn't...is lying. It's so hard as a mom to not focus 100% on the children that you have carried for 9+ months. The love they give us is unconditional. They're so innocent & they deserve our complete attention. The hard part is remembering that our husbands deserve that attention too. These little miracles that I adore every single day, are 50% his, and our kids were made from our love. I know it sounds cheesey, but it's so true. He is my soulmate, and I'm so lucky to have him as my babies' dad. lol. Being married is hard...and having kids is even harder. Getting past these first few months is definitely the hardest part. It's confusing, emotional, and stressful. But when I think about all of the memories we've made and the things we've taught our kids, it makes me so happy. I would never want to do this with anyone else. :-)

So...I hate bragging on FB, but Haley is ridiculously smart. lol. She amazes me everyday with the things she learns. If you ask her what her name is, she says, "Heeleelee" and if you ask her my name, she says "mommmmy", and her daddy's name is "daddy!!!" (she always sounds so excited. lol). And when I point to Charlie and ask her who he is, she says "baby" or "Carlie!!!!". I LOVE it!!!! Whenever Charlie is crying, I always try to have Haley take care of him first. I always ask her what he needs. She bring him her binkie & then tries to pick him up. Which is unbelievably cute. She loves him so much, and it just reassures me that having this kiddos so close together was a good idea.

I'm so lucky to have such an amazing family. I know the grass is always greener, but I'm still SOOOO happy with these people.

Now......If it's been a few weeks & you haven't heard from me...let me know. I keep forgetting! :-)
